Talking to Strangers
Once you get comfortable talking to friends while purposely holding memories and emotions, it's time to try with strangers. The easiest place to do this is with strangers who are expecting you to say something. Like that imaginary barista we keep referring to. This may seem a little strange at first, but in reality, service people are much less likely to say anything than your friends. Service people take orders all day, and they are the least likely people to question the emotional state of somebody placing an order for a shot of espresso, especially if that emotional state is particularly happy. In fact, we can imagine some kind of split-world alien experiment. In one world, the aliens dress up as sexy people and flirt with people just before they enter into a coffee shop. Then they do a brain scan of the barista during the post-flirting interaction. Say they do this a couple thousand times in coffee shops around the world. The other side of the experiment would be to train a couple thousand earthlings on this process, and once they got to the point of building up a sufficiently strong emotional memory, they were assigned to a couple thousand random coffee shops around the world. Then brain scans were done on those baristas. Then they would compare the flirt-experience brain scans to the built-up-emotion brain scans. Clearly, it would be impossible to for a barista to look at somebody ordering coffee and being able to tell if they were in happy mood because of something that just happened, or if they were in a happy mood because they've been busily building up a childhood memory. All they would see is the outer game. They would have to guess the inner game based on their interpretation of their customers outer game. It's just that when something good happens to us, we radiate positive feelings without really trying, so it doesn't feel weird. It's wholly subconscious. So, the first few times you try this it might feel like they are going to know you are doing it on purpose. They won't. All it will take is just a few positive experiences to make this much more fun than doing this with friends. A positive experience (you being a positive force of nature on their state) will be enough to compel you to be a mad scientist and do all kinds of crazy social experiments, just to see how many different creative and clever ways you can impact the emotional states of others.
Inner State Outer State Flow Through
With a little practice, mostly with friends, you'll be able to regulate how much of your inner game state is regulated to your outer game state. This is when you can have some real fun with strangers. One powerful thing to do is to practice increasing the flow-through mid-conversation. That is to start off with a strong inner game, but keep your outer game mostly shut off. Then as you are speaking, slowly increase the amount of inner game that is flowing to your outer game.
